Oh my goodness, "Clara, Stitched in Secrets" completely stole my heart! From the stunning cover – seriously, that gown and mask are breathtaking – to the very last page, I was utterly captivated. I went in expecting a charming historical romance, and while it certainly delivered on that front, it surpassed all my expectations in the most delightful ways.

The initial premise – a mistaken identity leading to a fake engagement with the brooding Duke of Ravencroft – is wonderfully intriguing. But what truly sets this book apart is the depth and complexity of its characters. Clara isn't your typical damsel in distress; she's a strong, independent woman with a sharp wit and a hidden vulnerability that makes her incredibly relatable. She's a master seamstress, and her keen observation skills, honed by years of observing the ton from behind the needle, are cleverly woven into the plot. Watching her navigate the treacherous waters of high society, while simultaneously grappling with her unexpected feelings for the Duke, was a complete joy.

Eustace, the Duke himself, is equally compelling. He starts off as this aloof, enigmatic figure, shrouded in mystery and guarded by a carefully constructed persona. But as the story unfolds, we see glimpses of his vulnerability, his pain, and ultimately, his overwhelming tenderness for Clara. The way Kerri Kastle develops their relationship is exquisite; it's a slow burn, full of unspoken desires and simmering tension, that culminates in a love story that feels both earned and utterly believable.
